Replacing A Flush

A flush that never ceases to fill or leaks are signs that indicate it is time to replace the mechanism of your toilet. A fairly simple operation that requires a little time and few tools as new mechanisms flush are often sold as a kit, including so-called "economic" models. Before you choose, it is best to measure the diameter of the hole in the lid of your tank so that the new mechanism is ideally suited.

Replacing a flush: some precautions
To prevent flooding, you must first shut off the toilet. It is often the little tap beneath (for models of old WC) or on the side of the tank. After turning, flush the toilet to empty the tank. After removing the cover, you will, with an adjustable wrench, unscrew the pipe inlet, the float valve and the bell of the old flush. In the basin are generally two nuts. After being released, the tank can be removed. Depending on the models, the system that hosts the seal is attached or screwed under the tank. If it is screwed in, a tool provided in the kit will allow you to remove it and replace it with the new.

You can then place the tank, not to change the seals screws that are inside. The new float valve naturally screwed with a seal on the side of the bowl. With the wrench, you will screw it easier the new mechanism for both sides. After installing the new mechanism as shown in the package insert, you can adjust the float level before replacing the lid. It only remains to restore the water supply and check that there are no leaks.
